The Silver family believed in the grove faith and as such mark their years by the natural elements in a seven year cycle. These typically correspond to what many sims think of as SimDays SimMonday through SimSunday. Each year has special meaning which may be highlighted with special community events or private gatherings.
- Moon Year - celebrating transitions, typically move-in/out day
- Fire Year - celebrating passion and courage, a time for bonfires and cookouts, a fortunate time for blind dates, and sometimes competitive games of courage
- Wind Year - celebrating communication and learning, a time to travel, plan outings or parties, and perform music and write books, attend classes
- Star Year - celebrating fortune, typically years to focus on business and work. Also the proscibed tax year of Silver Grove Valley
- Water Year - celebrating the flow of life, a time for weddings, fishing trips and any creative pursuits
- Earth Year - celebrating the cycle of life, a time to garden, enjoy mechanical pursiuts, visit graves of ancestors, have family reunions
- Sun Year - celebrating light and all life, a time for building faith through meditation.
