I'll take work over Pregnancy any day - 2004

I hated this pregnancy. All I can do is eat, sleep and pee. I'f I'm lucky I get to sleep in a bed and pee on the toilet. Ernesto said it might be twins. Great, just great knocked up by a homeless man and it's twins. This is why I stopped using and got clean, cause I don't know what I'll do. gods, I'm craving elixir though.

The arcade keeps on keeping on. Got it to rank 3 and managed a chamber of commerce award. $10,000 that's going to come in handy. Because...

yep, twins. What's this going to do to my bottom line, never mind my room, how am I going to live in this tiny space that long? one boy, aaron, noe girl, Beada. they look identical excepts aaron has brown eyes and Beada has blue. Both brown hair, a legacy of their no good father.

Tom's been great. He didn't care about all this business with Rodney. Said everyone is entitled to their mistakes.

Boot camp sucks - Winte4 -2004

I thought getting a snazzy new uniform would help me pick up the ladies but it's a no go. Peace has been spreading rumors that I'm gay, I'm sure of it. Why else would they stay away. Every woman I meet is either ugly, poor, or rude. I mean my moves got talent, what's she got, a funny hairdo.

Stupid Leland wanted to bring me in for smacking Raina a couple of times. She starts the fights I swear! Taught him a lesson.

Worst is boot camp though. Who can do this obstacle course. It wasn't meant for sims!

Twins, a TV and a Saturday night girl. - Spring 2004

So Bella and I are a thing again, which is cool cause we can go out together on the Village green for Peace's concerts.

Bought an MP3 player, love it! Bunny Fox gave me a 44" TV to play around with after I invited her to be the town doctor starting in 2008. I think I like being an Assembly person. Feels good to do something.

Zola's twins are so cute, I go in there sometimes just to give them a good cuddle. now don't get me wrong, i like them in the capacity that I can give them back when I'm done cuddling! Not ready to settle down and have kids and all that jazz. Honestly I'll never marry again.
The one I'm holding here is Beada, she's got blue eyes and her brother Aaron has brown.

I think everyone likes me! - winter 2004

Well except the witch Zola and my stupid brother. I'm best friends with my neighbor Raina, and everyone shows up to hear me sing at the Village Green. I even got a seat as an assembly woman for the local council, can you believe it?

Any way this guy comes up to me after a show and swears he'll talk to Thor about getting me a promotion and I did, I'm a ventriloquist now! Basically I sing then have the dummy make cracks about my cleavage.

I asked Thor out afterward to, ah, show my appreciation. It was a dream date. I can't post any other pictures we took!

So many men are trying to get to know me, It' wonderful! Tom Voss, Eathan Dreamer, Forrest Freshe, Thor Moon, and Dee Collins all compete for my attention. It's quite romantic.

Life ain't good, it's great! - summer 2004

My love life is going great. I've got a little crush on my neighbor Zola, I've been babysitting the twins while she works. I love the little sprouts and can't wait to have my own. Things with Susannah couldn'r be going better. We had another dream date and woohoo'd right on the sofa during a movie marathon at Desirable Discourse. I wonder if I have to arrest myself now, but no one said anything so I guess i'm off the hook.

I got promoted too! I am now officially a partol officer for the Silver Grove Valley area. The only problem is i don't have any help so if I can'r get a suspect subdued, I can't get him to jail. I interviewed a few of the toughs hanging around about Rodney Douglas but he seems to just be a drifter. I can't pin him to any conspiracy that Zola keeps going on about.

Journal - Ernesto Addario - 2004

I'm surrounded by strong women - Spring 2004

I am amazed at how well Raina is in dealing with Tuon. She cries sometimes but she gives as good as she gets. She's a strong one. These past couple of years really let us reconnect. We were closer than anything as kids, but grew apart when we hit high school and she started dating. Despite the circumstances, I don't regret this move for us. We are even talking about being roomies after we can get out of the boarding house.

I'd like a life with Zola but I don't think that's going to happen. I keep seeing Tom Voss hanging around. Zola is a proud woman. The pregnancy took alot out of her and those twins are going to run her ragged, I can just feel it. She won't ask me for help. It was hard being there for the birth with Tom around.

I've met another woman as well, Sheila Sellens and I get along well, but I haven't the guts to ask her out. She's the red head watching me play the pinball machine.

Hearth Hearthrob

Peace Hearth, the new sensation on the Village Green, has been seen with several men. Dee Collins said she deserves a promotion. Elder Forrest Freshe Is often seen vying for her attention. She's been seen romantically with Thor Moon, and flirting with Tom Voss.
The apartment of Peace Hearth and Tuon Katashi was flooded in the early morning hours when the hot tub on the third floor leaked, creating a cascade of water into their living area. The only furnishings to be damaged was the floor which was replaced with durable bamboo flooring.

$400,000 has been granted to the community to be used over the next 7 years. four capital projects are underway and the following building will open by the end of this year:

Silver Grove First Babies Born
The first babies of Silver Grove were born in late spring of 2004. Aaron is a bouncing baby boy and Beada is a precious little girl. Their parents Zola Masego and Rodney Douglas are not married. There have been reports filed that Rodney Douglas, a local vagrant took advantage of Zola Masego earlier this year.

Zola's pregnancy was attended by Erensto Addario, the only local sim with medical training. The pregnancy was difficult for Zola, she passed out or lost bladder control more than once.

SimNational Guard Training Facility Opens
With the first local military recruit starting basic training this year, the SimNational Guard Training Facility opened next to the Community College. Tuon Katashi joined the military this year after a career change from the entertainment industry. He is often seen around town in his uniform. Cybergames Arcade wins Chamber of Commerce award
Zola Masego's business sense has promoted her business, Cybergames Arcade to rank 3. The business has been recognized by the SimCity Chamber of Commerce. She received a $10,000 award for outstanding service to her community. This comes at a time when it is greatly needed for Ms. Masego since she recently gave birth to twins.

Town Meeting Minutes - 2004

Compiled by assembly secretary - Raina Romina

After being gathered together by Roxie Rasmussen, she gave us some startling news: A partnership of the Sim Historical Preservation Society and the Neighborhood Partnership Program will be giving the town a grant of $100,000 per year for so long as the town "requires the funds for proper town operations and the population is less than 50 sims. This is a similar deal Simmington Hills received and we are happy to get it. The money will be given every star year to be used for the next 7 years. This first star year we are receiving $400,000.

First order of business: Determine a spokes person
After heated debate we realized we need to have a spokesperson to control the meeting. Leland
Bishop was offered the position but he declines citing his affiliation with the police force, stating that he wanted to just catch the criminals not judge them and make their laws too. He proposed that Ernesto Addario be spokesperson and he agreed.

Second order of Business:

Determine the Major use of the $400,000

Each of the sims within Mrs. Silver's Boarding House wanted different things from the money. The following were proposed:
  • Zola Masego proposed a school since before 7 years from now her children would need to go somewhere.
  • Raina Romina proposed a police station, since she thought it would help Leland do his job. several comments about Tuon were made.
  • Peace Hearth proposed that the music hall be opened up.
  • Leland seconded the police station. he said he would love any help he could get.
  • Ernesto Addario proposed that the town hall open up so we could start a proper legislature.
  • Tuon Katashi proposed we split the money between ourselves.
After these propositions it was decided that the majority of the money would go to capital projects needed to pay for the most needed community buildings. The following building were proposed:
  • Hospital
  • Town hall
  • VETI
  • Police Station
  • Music Hall
  • Public School
  • Museum
  • Newspaper
  • Cinema
  • Skate park
  • Fire station
Each sim present listed the three project most important to them in order of importance. Projects of first importance were given scores of 3, of second importance, a score of 2, and third importance a score of 1. The scores for each project were then added up and the top projects were given precedence.

The totals were:
  • Town Hall - 7 points
  • Medical Center - 6 points
  • Police station - 6 points
  • School - 5 points
  • Music Hall - 4 points
  • Museum - 3 points
  • VETI - 2 points
  • Skate park - 1 point
  • Cinema - 1 point
  • Newspaper - 1 point
  • Fire station - 0 points
the project to be funded are;
  1. The Town hall will be funded for a total of $120,000.
  2. The School will be funded for a total of $130,000
  3. The Medical Center will be funded for a total of $73,000
  4. The police station will be funded fora total of $50,000
The sum of $373,000 will be put toward buying the community building listed above. However we still need sims to run them.

Third order of business: Allocating the remainder of the money
The remaining $27,000 will be used for the upkeep of the existing community lot, the Village Green and salaries of people running the new lots.

Roxie told us that the cost to maintain a community with essential personnel and utilities runs at $500 a year for non-specialty lots. $3,500 has been allocated for the Village Green.

We voted for which positions we would like to fund and how much we would like to fund them for. All funds are per year. The following were proposed;
  • The Town spokesperson/defacto mayor - $500
  • The local head of police -$500
  • The local doctor- $700
  • The public school teacher -$500 (starting in 2010)
  • The newspaper editor- $100
  • The webmaster - $100
  • Any town assembly people (between 3-6 people)- $200

Constraining factors included: The only doctor we knew that was willing to relocate to Silver Grove Valley was Bunny Fox and she insisted in earning at least $700 a year on top of her practice salary in SimCity. We had no candidates for a public school teacher at this time. The current newspaper editor and webmaster positions were volunteer.

This led us to a budget of $3,000 a year, $16,400 over the seven year span given that the doctor's salary would start in 2008 and the school teachers salary would start in 2010, leaving $7,100 to spare for emergencies.

Fourth order of Business: Determining the employees for paid positions

In a 5 to 1 vote is was determined that the town spokesperson, newspaper editor and webmaster would remain the same.

In a 5 to 1 vote it was decided that Leland Bishop would be the local head of police since he has the most experience of any local sim.

In a unanimous decision it was decided to request Bunny Fox to relocate and become the town doctor. since she cannot move it before the moon year her salary will not begin until 2008.

There were no candidates for the public school teacher, we decided to revisit the issue in 2009 and advertise in the paper for a teacher.
  • The Town spokesperson/defacto mayor - Ernesto Addario
  • The local head of police -Leland Bishop
  • The local doctor- Bunny Fox (confirmed)
  • The public school teacher -TBA, in advertisement(starting in 2010)
  • The newspaper editor- Ernesto Addario
  • The webmaster - Leland Bishop
Fifth order of business: Voting in assembly persons
We also voted for minimum requirements to sit as an local assembly person. Any person desiring to sit as an assembly person must meet the following criteria:
  • Have a minimum of a 250 community score.
  • Have at least 3 friends not related or in your household.
These minimum criteria may be raised at any time if there is more than 7 possible sims for the assembly.

According to these rules the following people are sitting as assembly people:
  • Ernesto Addario Spokesperson- community score of 504, 4 friends
  • Leland Bishop - Vice spokesperson - community score of 585, 5 friends
  • Raina Romina - Secretary - community score of 360, 5 friends
  • Peace Hearth - Treasurer - community score of 252, 7 friends
At this point Tuon Katashi stormed out the room. Zola shrugged and stated. "I never much cared for politics, so as long as I can voice my concerns I don't care."

Total Budget for years 2005-2011
  • $373,000 - capital projects for opening
  • $16,400 - community employee salaries
  • $3,500 - upkeep village Green
  • $7,100 - emergency fund

Editor's Note:

We are beginning to feel the pains of growing into a town. Even with just a few of us we must realize that in order for the town to function we must pull together and begin leading this town to it's future. With no fire services, police services, or even a town hall we are adrift in dangers waiting to happen unless we look out for one another.

The Rumor Mill

The latest gossip from anonomyous letters:

Tuon Should Go!

Tuon Katshi is becoming a public menace. He attacks both his own sister, and one of the female residents on a near daily basis and has begun insulting the men in the house as well. In addition his job record is now becoming erratic with him quitting for no obvious reason right after getting a promotion. The man is obviously unstable.

Late on Wednesday a kitchen fire started in Mrs. Silver Boarding house. Due to lack of emergency services it took the SimCity fire department 30 minutes to arrive.

Tuon Katashi the originator of the fire, was cooking spaghetti and claimed he got distracted. He was seen running from the house as the fire was starting. His neighbors had this to say. "I called him a wimp. He starts a fire and runs away. He's supposed to be defending our nation, Ha!," said Raina Romina, one of the residents who was in the building when it happened. According to onlookers the taunts of his neighbors resluted him in going back into the house to extinguish the fire.

No one was harmed and no property was damaged.

Townie Vagrancy on the Rise

A vagrant has taken up residence on the back stoop of Mrs. Silver's Boarding house. The young man can be found stealing leftover food and sleeping on the patio from time to time. Raina Romina first filed a complaint about him in the fall but SimCity social services have declared it "not a problem for this jurisdiction."

Lacking it's own police force, residents can do next to nothing as he loiters in the area. Police cadet Leland Bishop levied a $500 fine on him which made him disappear for a while. However inthe summer he came back seeking shade and scaveging off of leftover hot dogs. Zola Masego claims the man took liberties with her, possibly at the urging of Peace Hearth.

What did Peace do to me? - Summer 2003

Tuon keeps attacking Raina. Poor girl. She really should learn to defend herself. I imagine she'll move out as soon as they let us. But that Peace is the worst of all. I'm sure she slipped something into my juice one night at the village green cause I don't rememer anything but I woke up next to Rodney Douglas, that vagrant that keeps coming round here. I remember her being all happy and giggly that night too.

I told Leland I wanted her arrested but he said there wasn't any proof. I know she did this to me, I just know it. I'm trying to maintain a good life here but now I'm craving elixer again, and I know what happens after that! I'd been clean for years now.

I've been working too hard. I'm trying to write a game guide to bring in extra money. I'll never afford a house if business doesn't pick up. I've managed to get the Arcade to rank 2 but it's slow going, at least the video game vendors are giving me rebates now.

Worst thing is I think I must have the stomach flu. I've been throwing up all morning.
